Hard Dance Podcasts - Taking it to a new level

Fausto’s Crossover is a weekly podcast presented by, obviously, no one other than Fausto himself! Focusing mainly on hard trance, with a dash of hardstyle thrown in for good measure, this podcast features a short mix from Fausto himself, and then a weekly guest mix, with 2011 guests ranging from Stana, Phil York, and Lady Faith to Bioweapon, Steve Hill, Nomad and HARDFORZE. The show is broadcast on Q-dance Radio overnight on a Thursday night Australian time, but most of the times it's available for download by the time you get to work the next day.


The Magic Show is another massive weekly podcast and radio show broadcast at Q-dance Radio, showcasing 3 artists with an hour set each every Tuesday morning (Australian time). The Magic Show has an impressive resident list ranging from Chris One, Degos & Re-Done and Sasha F to Koldsa, Kodex and Da Tweekaz. And the show also features at least one guest mix each week. 2011 has featured artists like Zatox, Zany and Max Enforcer, Deepack, Toneshifterz, and one fantastic post-Defqon.1 2011 mix featuring 6 huge DJs b2b for 3 hours. It’s a great way to hear new tunes, as well as hear a little bit of what each guest artist is up to in the short interviews scattered throughout the show. They have also just started up their own record label, The Magic Show Records, with 2 currently signed artists from their residents roster: Tartaros and Juized.


Onto the monthly podcasts now, starting with Isaac’s Hardstyle Sessions, hosted by hard dance legend Isaac and broadcast at Q-dance Radio. It features new tunes from all the well-known artists such as D-Block & S-te-Fan, Psyko Punkz, Technoboy, as well as Isaac himself. It also includes some older tracks from that don’t get played as much anymore, tunes like 'Da Bootleggerz – Fresh Beats', 'Deepack – Here’s Johnny', 'Derb – Derb', and 'DJ Duro – Cocaine MF'. Isaac puts together a nice, well-rounded mix every month that mixes it up just that little bit more!


The TiLLT! Radio Show broadcasts at Q-dance Radio on the first Friday of every month, and is hosted by Digital Punk. This podcast focuses on the darker side of hardstyle that TiLLT! Records is renowned for, including tracks by their signed artists like Solutio & The I’s, Revolutionz, Chris One, and Waverider, as well as other artists that bring that harder edge like Zatox, B-Front, and Frequencerz.


Bringing it a bit closer to home are the podcasts of two of our local heroes: S Dee and Nik Fish. Besides lots of music they are also providing us with interviews and news and gossip from the European hard dance scene.

Signed this year to M!D!FY, Sydney's hardstyle producer/dj S Dee his podcast Overdose on Hardstyle features a lot of uplifting hardstyle from local and International artists such as Noisecontrollers, Da Tweekaz, The Pitcher, Suae & Pulsar, S Dee himself (of course), as well as some very amusing shout outs!

Nik Fish is one of our best-known hard dance DJs, having been in the business for over 20 years now and playing at many raves and festivals both here and overseas. His monthly podcast Hardrive features the most up to date tunes from all the biggest names, as well as featuring some from lesser known artists such as Brian McBunn and DJ Ezteq. This podcast also features competitions, with somtimes crazy prizes like Defqon.1 tickets and more!


And finally, probably the most anticipated podcast each month is Headhunterz' own Hard With Style. If you want to know what tracks are going to absolutely explode in the following months, look no further! With a wicked mix of the dark and the uplifting, HWS promos tunes from artists like Frontliner, Noisecontrollers, Wildstylez, Zany, The Anarchist, and Australia’s own NitrouZ, Code Black, and Toneshifterz. It also includes some epic old tunes, with Heady dropping in tunes like his remix of 'Brennan Heart – We Are Possessed', and the Hardstyle Masterz remix of 'The Raiders – Salamandra'. And don’t be surprised if you hear some cheeky dubstep tunes thrown in as well for good measure. This is definitely a monthly podcast you can’t afford to miss!


Besides the above shows and podcasts, we also have access to some other fantastic shows from names like Organ Donors, Alphaverb, Luna, A-lusion, and the Qlub Underground collective. We might not be as lucky as our fellow European Q-dancers who can enjoy a massive event every few weeks, but with so much fresh new hard dance music available each and every week there’s no need to feel like you’re missing out!
