hey guys, i recently seen an interview with willem (HHZ) in which he said that he will play a really different set at defqon 1 this saturday & also on the timetable i noticed that he is playing really early in the day & next to his name it says (special performance). What does this mean guys,what sort of hardstyle will HHZ play will it be melodic,raw or experimental (dubstyle), from what i can make out from the early set time he has it would be either a melodic or experimental set or maybe he will play a hard raw set because heaps of people have given him shit about his cheesey melodic style lately. Has anyone heard anymore about what style he will play at defqon 1, it will be very interesting to see which direction he will be heading in the future.

I hope he will play a raw style. The melodic shit is awful last 24 months.
Hardstyle was created for a different reason.

That melodic shit can destroy it because you can’t listen to that kind of music for 8 hours long. It needs to be harder, tougher!

Hardstyle isn't child music

About 20 hours he will perform, and I will be there . Give you my opinion on Sunday.

@ firestarter the quote of the year mate "hardstyle isn't child music", i love it brother well done, i think this is make or break for headhunterz i am sure he won't play melodic because i think he is finally getting the message that people are sick of it, if he plays experimental it will be a massive risk if people don't like it, so then it must be raw style,he probably wants to show people that his not cheesey anymore i hope so,firestarter i look forward to your report & go HARD at DEFQON 1. I hated his set
We walked away! I've been 2 HHZ many times and still loved it.
But afther this weekend i doubt.... will he change 2 this new style? (house with a little dupstep)
we will wait i guess ?

kon hij dit niet beter op een kleiner event introduceren,
hij vergooide zijn naam wel met deze actie zeg.
moet die niet nog eens proberen als het aan mij ligt

voor de rest was defqon dit jaar echt geweldig,
blue en purple waren echt goed, black was ook nice dit jaar gewoon buiten, en de laatste uren op de main waren subliem, vooral noisecontrollers knalde weer flink! en Wildstylez boven all verwachtingen een spectaculair einde

Naar mijn idee was het juist een topset voor een festival als Defqon1.

Heerlijk om in te komen op de dag.
Heb ook expres nog om me heen staan kijken terwijl hij aan 't draaien was en het ging goed los op de dansvloer.

Weet niet of het slim was om dit onder zijn eigen naam te doen, omdat mensen toch iets anders van hem verwachteen, maar ik vond het echt een leuk begin van de dag.

Welke stijl draaide ie dan?Want da wordt me in de voorgaande posts niet heel duidelijk kwas r nog niet toen hhz draaide dus nergens last van gehad mocht het een slechte set zijn geweest

Wij dus ook.. beetje jammer.. Willem moet het gewoon bij zijn melodieuze hardstyle houden, erg gewaagd om het op een feest als defqon uit te proberen.. had ie et nog beter op HHZ-xq kunnen uitproberen.. Des al niet te min, Defqon was weer super dit jaar! 10 juli de feestfabriek kan nie wachten!

Kvraag me steeds af waarom ze zoiets proberen,ik heb de set zelf niet gehoord maar kan mij al iets voorstellen van wat er gebracht is.ik bedoel maar ff waarom proberen ze steeds die hs aan te passen of dubstyle aan toe te voegen.ok ik hou wel van verandering in muziek,ma het moet geen hs crossover d&b worden imo.

I suppose i wanted to know what style hhz is heading in the future,from the reports i have read from our dutch mates that attended he played some sort of dub-style shit ! Well well i never would have thought hhz would have went ahead with that especially under the hhz name & on the mainstage at defqon 1, looks like the future doesnt look too bright if we are counting on HHZ !!!

it was a very pro set i gotta say. but for defqon or any other hardstyle shit? no... really no. not hard not hardstyle. it was a set that should be on parties like awakenings.. was very techno like. i like techno sound. dont get me wrong. but when i go defqon i wanna have hardstyle.. hhz i left after 5 minutes to go have some food... sad since the special wut he announced i looked forward too at that day.
